As a British passport holder you will need a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of your return to the UK.
It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain the needed visas for
travel so please make sure you thoroughly check every destination you
are visiting for visa requirements, whether this is at the start or end
of your holiday, or any port visited.
Some destinations require British passport holders to have a visa. For
up to date information on this please check the relevant embassy or
contact The Travel Visa Company quoting ref M2583 on telephone number 01270 250 590.
We are unable to provide any advice regarding visas as we are not
experts in this field but please see below some helpful information on
some common requirements for British passport holders.
Travelling to the USA – ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation)
Everyone travelling to the USA by air or sea must complete an ESTA before departure from the UK. There are no exceptions and by not obtaining this, access to the USA is likely to be denied. Even if you are simply passing through the USA, an ESTA is still required.
You need to apply for this a minimum of 72 hours before you are due to travel but we recommend doing as soon as possible.
An ESTA costs $14 for each person and if accepted is valid for 2 years, or until your passport expires, whichever is sooner.
All travellers wishing to enter the US using an ESTA will need to hold a passport with an integrated chip (an ePassport).
From 21 January 2016 most people who have travelled to Iran, Iraq, Sudan, or Syria since March 2011, or are dual nationals of these countries, will no longer qualify for entry under the VWP and existing ESTAs could be revoked. You will instead need to apply for a visa from the nearest US Embassy or Consulate. If in doubt please contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
